VI'SKALY'S SPIRIT OF ALASKA
The success of Vi'skaly's Spirit of Alaska is one of the things we are most proud of. He has, from the very beginning, been a hit in the show ring. The judges love him and he's won more in Sweden that any other Pyr has ever done. As breeders, owners and handlers of this warm and loving dog, we couldn't be more proud!

Spirit was TOP DOG no. 4 in Sweden 2007, and TOP DOG no. 5 in Sweden 2008. On top of the honour of winning these titles, Spirit was the best Swedish-bred dog in Sweden 2007 and therefore chosen to go to the Eukanuba World Challenge in Long Beach, CA, USA. Around 40 countries were represented by their Top Dog and our white bear was one of them...

It was a great honour to represent our country and we also got the opportunity to participate in the breed competition in the morning. After having put on a splendid show, Spirit was chosen as Best Male as well as Best Bred By Exhibitor, by breed specialist Mr Robert Brown! We were ever so pleased and didn't really ask for more, but after once again making us proud of his performance - Spirit was shortlisted in the World Challenge and put forward together with some of the absolutely stunning dogs that also were there representing their countries.
CRUFTS
Crufts is often seen as the Mekka for dogs. Being the greatest show of them all, Crufts attracts more than 20 000 dogs and thousands of people every year. To win at Crufts is something special...even in a breed as the Pyrs, there's always an entry of more than 100 dogs!
Year 2002 was the first time we visited Crufts bringing a dog. Vi'skaly's Fabian Sirius Do-Ca certainly didn't let us down and was chosen as Best of Breed as well as Group 4th! Another dog fighting for our colours at this huge show, was Vi'skaly's Amazing Alfa - who was Best Bitch year 2006. Two years after this, in 2008, it was time for Vi'skaly's Spirit of Alaska to try his luck...after a long day the judge, Mr Joe Kirk, stated in his write-up; No one would deny this dog his Best of Breed! And nobody did. Mrs Zena Thorn-Andrews awarded him Group 4th of the day and the long journey home went as smooth as anything! 2009 Vi'skaly's A Breeze of Alaska joined the crew when she was awarded Best Opposite Sex.

PYR OF THE YEAR - again and again and again... (94-95-96-97-98-99-00-01-02-03-04-05-06-07-08-09)
Since Laudley Dolly Blue (one of our foundation bitches) was top winner 1994, our home has been the home of the top winning Pyrs in Sweden. "Donna" was top winner in 1994-95-96-97 and her son, Vi'skaly's Fabian Sirius Do-Ca was top winner 1998. Year 1999 Vi'skaly's Carissma Satí gained the title, and since that year she was top winning bitch every year until 2004. Fabian regained his title year 2000 and stayed in pole position until year 2004. 2005 Vi'skaly's Amazing Alfa was top winner, only slightly ahead of Vi'skaly's Eddie Asterion. Alfa was beaten by the skin of a teeth by Vi'skaly's Spirit of Alaska year 2006, but in 2007 she was back in business and recaptured the throne, pushing Spirit back to 2nd place. After years of wonderful achievements by beautiful Vi'skaly's Jill Joy of Mountain was top winner of 2008 (at the respectable age of nine years!) and Spirit was once again pushed back to 2nd place. Top winner for 2009 was Vi'skaly's Nordique Norton - slightly ahead of Vi'skaly's A Fistful of Fun and Vi'skaly's African Tunda on the males' side, and slightly ahead of Vi'skaly's Cattle Kate Johnson on the bitches' side.
Most important for us are the dogs' well-being and the joy they bring into the families they live in. At Vi'skaly's we breed healthy and joyful dogs who are wonderful family members - but on top of this we work hard to keep the breed's instincts and looks at their bests. We work closely with top-producing breeders all around the world, all with the same goals and ambitions - to strengthen the breed's qualities. Successful breeding can't be measured, but some of our greatest achievements through the years are listed on this page. The website is still new and I'm working on getting it all plotted down and published - but in time we'll get there!

Throught the years we've only ever been to two World Dog Shows...but the results are none to be ashamed off!
